What the heck?
Yeah, so Carlo’s decided to move on to his personal site and nobody else is using SP anymore, but I thought “what the hell?” and decided to come in and write something anyway. Maybe it’ll get read, maybe it won’t. Oh well. -shrug-
School’s almost out, thank God. I wound up dropping calculus back in October. Just wasn’t any way to save myself in there, so I offed it and got a WP so it wouldn’t affect my GPA. There’s this girl in my organic chem class that was also in that same calc class, and she said that the teach had screwed up with the ordering of rules that we had to learn and it messed up well over half the class. Also, according to what she told me, it would seem like I wasn’t the only one who abandoned that sinking ship. I’ll take another swing at it in the spring semester, as well as organic chem 2. It’s a bridge I’m rather reluctant to cross, but I’ll worry with it when it’s time to.
I also bought myself a new car. My Focus was pretty much on the verge of death. I got up one morning to go somewhere and it wouldn’t crank up. After several attempts, it finally did crank, but you know how the engine will sputter out when it has bad fuel? Yeah, that’s what was going on with it. Put some gas treatment in the tank, and it stopped after a while, but then there was the smell of burning wires….needless to say, my patience amounted to nothing at this point. So, I had a choice. Get the thing and all its wrongs righted, or buy a new car (well, not exactly a NEW year model, but you know….). I went with the latter one. Found an ‘02 Volkswagon Jetta on lot. So, now I’m driving ’round in a Jetta. Es ist wunderbar! :D
Also got myself a new project. I’m hoping within another couple of months to start building a bass guitar. I spent most of the last two weeks drawing out full-sized plans for it. It will be a 5-string, with a wide profile neck, bone or Tusq nut (haven’t decided yet), ebony fingerboard, 24 frets, and is going to have a neck-thru-body style construction, with the two sides of the body made of mahogany and the neck a five-piece maple/mahogany laminate. Gonna put in some Bartolini M5 pickups and a Bartolini preamp for the electronics. Also going to install a battery box for quick and easy battery changes when the time comes. The hardware (bridge, tuners, control knobs, etc.) will be gold finished, and the overall finish on the body will be a hand-rubbed oil/wax coat to bring out the natural wood luster. It’s gonna kick so much arse (well, provided everything goes alright that is)! I’m quite excited to say the least.
And that’s basically all I got. Nighty night! ^_^
