Oh boy….

Mom has started back at school and she needs to be able to get online upstairs so she won’t have to use up this comp. Well, today me, my brother, and mom went up to Greensboro to get a router. After searching around on Newegg for a little while, I came across the Linksys WRT54GL router. I had found this one due to the fact that it can be flashed with third-party firmware to make it do things that more expensive routers do, or whatever that supposedly means. Mom said she’d rather just go on and get one here and now to avoid waiting for shipping, so we went to BXXX BXX and picked up the Netgear RangeMax WPN824. I was kind of iffy about getting a router at first, as my experience with the last one was an unpleasant one. But, so far it’s doing pretty good. While we were in Best Buy, I looked around at some of the laptops they had, and found a Dell T6500. Dunno if that’s an Inspiron or not, but that’s all can remember of the name. The specs were what I was mainly concerned with, and they were very much to my liking, and it was priced at $700. Spec-wise, it had 3GB RAM, an Intel Core 2 Duo proc (didn’t have the clock speed listed), a 320GB HDD, a 17″ screen, DVD/CD burner/player, etc. So, that’s on my wishlist now. My brother’s torn between a MacBook and a Dell like the one I want. xD

Now, on to the other wishlist items. We went to the mall to look around for some stuff (mom wanted to go check out Bath & Body Works), and me and Brett walked around on the third floor trying to hunt down Woodcraft. Well, we stumbled upon a pet store and decided to go in and check it out. As I looked at all the different types of puppies they had, I saw one with a label that read “Pembroke Welsh Corgi.” And almost instantaneously I remembered Ein from Cowboy Bebop. This was the exact same kind of dog that Ein was. I almost wanted to ask the lady to go get it out and let me see it up close, but due to time constraints, we had to move on and get going. I’ve been looking around online at this breed. They rank 11th place in smartest breeds, and they make keen watch-dogs. On top of that, they are outgoing and friendly, and laid back. I may go back up to G-boro sometime and see if I can look at the dog up close. Based on what I’ve learned about them so far, I think they’d be a good dog to own. :)

-sigh- Corgis and laptops…what will ADD leave me not being able to live without next? xP

I’ve got two WRT54GLs that I’ve been using for a while now. Flashed them with DD-WRT and they’ve been doing a great job. But considering it’s an almost 5 year old model, it’s starting to show its age. I’d love to have a wireless-N router with it’s longer range and faster speeds. And I hope that as routers become more common place they become easier to use. I remember all the pain I went through as well the first time I set one up. Also the T6500 isn’t an Inspiron, it’s part of their Studio lineup. My sis was looking at that one too o=

And OMG the puppy versions are so cute!
