Been sitting on a fairly decent amount of money for a while thanks to graduation, my birthday, and me being really stingy, so I’ve finally felt the need to do something with it. Been toying with the idea of getting a PS3 or an HDTV since May, but decided to wait on getting either until I get to OSU.

A few weeks ago I started toying around with the idea of getting a entry-level DSLR. You know one of those fancy pants cameras with the gigantor lenses. I’ve always had fun with photography, but never really want to lay the cash down for a really nice point and shoot. If I was gonna spend $300+ on something I’d rather spend a few more hundred and get a camera that does a hell of a lot more. ’sides my sis and mom have great P&S’s that I can borrow if need be. So I went to Best Buy to look and hold some DSLRs. Fooled around wiht the Canon Rebel XS and the Nikon D40/D60. Both were really nice and had a tough time deciding between the two, but ended up liking the Canon a little more (maybe cause of brand loyalty? /shrug). Decided to sleep on it before I made any big purchases. But in the end I didn’t really sleep. Instead I was up ’til past 3am reading various threads, looking at alternative cameras, and just studying up on DSLRs. So now I’ve got all these choices in front of me and I’m still not sure where to go. In the end I didn’t get anything.

Which may actually be a good thing. Today I found out that the Zune HD, in all it’s beauty, is being released on Sept. 15th. Been wanting a new mp3 player ever since my 3rd generation iPod died few years back, but didn’t really see anything that grabbed me. Sure the iPod Touch is nice, but it’s just a downgraded iPhone. Would have liked to get an iPhone, but wouldn’t like to pay for the data plan. So I’ve been without music on the go for quite a while now. Hopefully the Zune HD will be all it’s cracked up to be.

tl;dr I’ve got money, will probably buy a Zune HD.
