Dexter

No, no. Not Dexter’s Lab. Though that is an awesome series, I am referring to the somewhat new show on Showtime, Dexter. It’s pretty much about a serial killer (totally just wrote cereal first) who kills serial killers. The catch is he’s also the police department’s forensics expert so he’s gotta maintain a normal guy visage while satisfying his hunger to kill. Or as IMDB puts it more eloquently: “A like-able Miami police forensics expert moonlights as a serial killer of criminals who he believes have escaped justice.”

I seriously don’t know how this went under my radar for so long. It’s 3rd season just ended not too long ago so I’m not all that far behind. At first I didn’t really think I’d like it all that much. I’m really tired of the cop shows that have littered the airwaves for years now and I thought this’d be more of the same. Sadly though I was gravely mistaken. After watching the first episode, I was immediately hooked and added the DVDs to my Netflix queue right away.

Finished the first season a week ago and thought it was amazing. The characters, the relationships, the killing. Superb. Then started the second season over the weekend and it surpasses the first in leaps and bounds. Didn’t think it’d be possible but this is an actual TV series that is getting better unlike so many others on TV that are slowly tanking. If any of you out there are looking for a good series to get into, I highly recommend this one.

In other news, this is creepy:
