Sushiforums
So recently one of our old forums tried to get things going again. Basically one of the active members started up a new site then sent invites to all the other active members and things started off pretty well. Lots of people were posting, the place was bustling, and good times were had by all. Now though just three weeks later, it seems like I’m the only one checking the forum daily and making new threads. Not even the guy who started it up is trying to keep things going (he’s got other things going on so I forgive him). So I’m torn between trying to keep the forum from dying or also abandoning it just like everyone else. In the end I decided, I’ll just try my best to stop it from dying but also revive our old dead forum.
So that leads me to sushiforums! It’s not really done yet, but if you remember the old url you can check it out if you’d like. Not really sure how many people I can get to join but hey I thought I’d give it a shot. Honestly it will probably die just as fast, but hey at least I know I’ll be able to do everything in my power to stop that from happening and won’t just be watching from the sidelines. So I went with Vanilla again for the main purpose of actually making the forum look like it is active. With other forum software if there is an overabundance of boards that people don’t post in, things will look really dead. Probably went over all of this way back when I first started sushiforum but hey who actually remembers that. Also going to try and go with a premade theme instead of a homemade one simply because I’m just too damn lazy. I can’t even make any headway with Joey’s German forum. (Sorry man.) It looks somewhat similar in that it has green in it and is pastelish. I’ll probably tweak it a little though to make it nicer.
Anyway so that’s my snow day post. I’ll keep you all informed on the progress of it. Hope it goes well and I don’t abandon it again.

I still drop in frequently to AA, but I usually just can’t seem to make myself post. My overall attitude towards it is that either nobody is going to make replies (especially not to anything related to linguistics, even if it’s about the languages they said they’d like to learn), or only one or two other people will say perhaps one- to two-sentenced posts and say nothing more. And I’m not worth two cents when it comes to TV and movies ’cause I hardly watch anything.
But yeah, I’ll be looking forward to SF again too. I’ll try to be as active as I can be, but I’m trying hard to cut back on my internet time. I spend way too much time on here doing nothing, and it’s just gotta stop, you know? Plus I just recently bought a bass guitar and I’ve been having some fun with that too. I’ll be around though. ;3
Oh, and don’t sweat it on the German board. I’m not so sure it’ll go anywhere or not until I try to get the word out. No rush there. =o

Yeah that’s what annoys me about AA as well. I make several well thought out threads and they either go ignored or it seems as though they didn’t even read my post and go off on their own tangent. What I love about forums is the repartee between the members. I don’t really care what people’s favorite movies are or stuff like that. In the end it’s the social interactions that I really look forward to and AA just isn’t providing that. [/rant]
As for SF I wanna make sure there are enough people interested in it first off. Will be pointless if there is just four of us conversing. I’m hoping Nina and Rob will be in on board so we at least have the four of us as a base. I’ve got maybe two or three more potential prospects but I wouldn’t bet money on them.

I may pop in every now and then, but I’m terrifyingly unreliable when it comes to things like this. :X
