Hiyo!

Seems like every entry we make we’re always playing the catch up game. Ah well. Also this has got to be at least my third post titled “Hiyo!” I really need to diversify my vocabulary.

So next week is my last week before the end of the trimester and all I can say is “Thank God.” I was hoping this year’s academic trimester would be a bit more interesting than last years, but sadly it wasn’t. Homework got a bit more challenging but that’s about it. Oddly though my hardest class I turned out to have the best grade in and my easiest turned out to be my worst. Probably psychology and what not. I’m gonna have to try and bring up my other grade by the end of next week so I can maintain a good GPA. Shouldn’t be too hard considering how easy the class is but it’d probably help if she gave more assignments.

Next trimester I’ve got my sophomore year of culinary labs. Looking forward to those mainly to break the monotony of academics. Don’t really feel like I’ll learn all that much but hey s’better than nothing. The last trimester I’ve got my co-op which I’m not sure where I’ll be doing it. Hoping to get out of Charlotte and head some place entirely different. West coast would be nice but highly implausible. It’ll probably be somewhere in the midwest so we’ll see once the co-op meetings start.

In other news been playing a lot of video games lately. As I mentioned before I’ve been playing Fallout 3 where I’ve beaten the main campaign and I must say that it did get a bit better. If they only made the storyline better then I’d say it’d but up there in the running for my favorite game of all time. Also played Fable 2 which I must say is a lot more rewarding than Fallout 3. In Fallout I didn’t feel like my evil deeds made an impact in the world but in Fable you can really tell they do. Overall Fable 2 is a very solid game with just a few small gripes so if you’ve been thinking about getting it you won’t be disappointed. Another game I’ve been trying out lately is Far Cry 2. If you like shooting people a lot with not much care for a story line then you’ll love this game. Just be wary that it gets extremely repetitive very early and you’ll find it hard to play this game for long sittings. Other than that it’s pretty awesome. Of course the big game that just recently came out I’ve been playing quite a lot and that is Gears of War 2. Pretty much it’s the strongest entry this holiday season. Been loving the story mode of the game and I’d probably be saying the same about the multiplayer if Time Warner didn’t suck ass.

Still awaiting the rest of the big blockbusters coming out. I preordered Mirror’s Edge which comes with a free yellow runner’s bag but I’m a bit strapped for cash at the moment. So I can either tighten my belt or just drop my preorder goody which really hurts my soul. Tomorrow’s the last day I can pick it up so basically however I’m feeling when I get out of class will determine whether or not I’ll head by Gamestop. We’ll see. Tried out the Left 4 Dead demo off Steam and I must say I’m really impressed. Single player was interesting and a good way to get acclimated with the game, but multiplayer is where it’s at (again depending on Time Warner). Played a few games with random strangers and it’s a heck of a lot of fun. The camaraderie that comes from the game is pretty epic. Great stuff. I may have to actually pick this one up. Lastly there is good ol’ Prince of Persia. Still debating whether or not to preorder this one. If I don’t I’ll probably wait a good month or so before I pick it up just from the sheer amount of junk I still gotta play.

In other news got in the mood again to redesign my personal site. So over the next few weeks I’ll probably be working on it here and there. We’ll see how things come out. Hopefully it’ll look all nice and spiffy. Still having a bit of trouble coming up with a good design. Wondering if I should stick with light blue and white or mix it up with other colors.

That’s about it. Yey me!

L4D is great fun. I almost got a PS3, but alas, no :( missed it by probably half an hour. I will have one sometime soon though so I can catch up on all these great games XD

Nice man! I really want one just to play MGS4 and LBP. Not really the most financially responsible decision but oh well. At least it’s also a bluray player.
