Mini-reviews

A little bored at the moment so thought I’d try something out. Just gonna write some short, rapid-fire reviews for some good ol’ fun. Pretty much anything I’ve played the past year that I haven’t talked about. So yeah here we go.

Halo 3 (360). Obligatory 360 game. Not the best of the genre, but then again not the worst. Pretty much the ultimate party game for college boys.

Gears of War (360). The other obligatory 360 game. Probably the best shooter on the console. Just sorta scared of the roids they’re using.

Lost Odyssey (360). Pretty much Final Fantasy for the 360. Traditional RPGing at its finest.

Bioshock (360/PC). Very pretty game. Nice engaging shooter with one of the best stories. Lackluster ending though.

Mass Effect (PC). Possibly my favorite of the year. Great graphics, great story, great gameplay. The trifecta of the gaming world.

Braid (360). Best puzzle/platformer of the year. Awesome time manipulation gameplay. Very interesting (and confusing) story.

Lost Wind (Wii). Pretty much the only thing on my Wii that I’ve played recently. Fun game that actually usually the Wiimote for something.

Dark Messiah of Might and Magic (PC). Fun game I played while there was nothing new coming out. Cool first person view. Love kicking bad guys into spikes/off cliffs.

Safecracker (PC). Another game I got to pass the time. Horrible graphics and story, but pretty good puzzles which is what I got if for anyway. Some puzzles are cheap though.

S’all I can think of for now.

I don’t suppose you’ve had a chance to play Devil May Cry 4 yet have you? =o

Actually I have o= It’s not that bad. But you pretty much need a gamepad to play it. Pretty much impossible to play it with the keyboard.

I haven’t really played anything much lately D:

I keep meaning to, but then I realize I need to save my money for other things >.<

S’usually how it goes unfortunately. D:

I’m kinda curious to check out Mass Effect. I’ve seen it before, but I usually found something else to piddle with. As for DMC, I always hesitate every time I hold the box in my hands. I played part one or two on the PS2 at my friend’s house about two or three years ago, but I can’t really say it was that impressive a game from what I played. Most hack-n-slash games get old after so long. =/

@Rob: S’why I just d/l everything for the PC =P Leaves me money to buy the good stuff on the 360.

@Joey: Yeah it does get repetative. I only play it once or twice a week cause that’s all I can stand =/ But you should definitely get Mass Effect if you can. Loads of fun. You can play it like a traditional shooter or you can go all RPG-y if you’d like. Great stuff.
