A concert and some Mac babble
Me and my brother went to go see the spring concert held by my community college Monday night, and it was excellent! As always, the choir sounded awesome, and the guitar ensemble was very inspiring in a way. It’s really got me wanting to practice more than I do.
This coming Saturday, me, my brother, and my dad are gonna go check out the Apple computer store in Durham. I’ve been looking forward to that all week long. I don’t have to tell you that Macs at this particular point in time are beyond my price range though. The MacBook I want costs almost $1500 from Newegg. Go figure, what would you expect with a laptop that comes standard with a 250GB hard drive, a 2.40GHz Intel Core 2 Duo and 2GB of RAM? You get what you pay for, as the saying goes. :3 It probably costs more than that if bought directly from the store. Still, no harm in doing a little testing out now is there? x3
The only downside to getting a Mac is that I’ll have a learning curve to work around. I’ve messed around on Macs before, but sadly, it was only when we visited my dad while he was at school the past five years. Didn’t really get into them that much either thanks to Duke’s comp store being closed whenever we headed that way most of the time. I could find the internet and manage my way around the desktop environment, but I couldn’t really go beyond that. =( I figure if I can somehow manage to watch my spending more feverishly and not buy things I don’t need in the meantime, and can let my savings build up until I get another FAFSA filled out, I might just be able to afford one and have a good bit of gas money left over…if all goes to plan. It’s easier said than done, unfortunately. I’m seriously gonna try though.

Ah dude I love choirs. Especially church ones. They sound so.. awesome for lack of a better word xP
As for the Macbook, unless you’re desperately want those extra .3 ghz or you hate white, you should just go with the cheapest model at $1,099. You can then upgrade the memory to 2GB ($55) and harddrive to 250GB ($115) which’ll bring up the total to $1,269 saving you a little upwards of $200. I don’t think you really need the extra .3ghz for a laptop unless you’ll be doing some hardcore gaming, which I doubt since you have an awesome rig at home.
Just thought I’d give you a headsup on that idea. Like I said I was interested in buying a Macbook a while ago and after reading up I saw that most people who bought the black model wished they would have just upgraded the lower end model instead. So just keep that in mind unless you have your heart set on the color black :3

Well, I do find the black one more stylish, but I think what you’re suggesting is more rational considering my current financial status. It may even be better to go along with a lesser end model. I can’t say I trust myself entirely with gaming and all. <.<; I’ll be sure to keep that in mind. =P
BTW, have you ever been to the Apple store in Charlotte yet by chance? o=

Interesting. Perhaps the Durham store will be just as Apple-y. xP
