Recent attachments and a new want
Carlo, I kinda hate to admit it, but I think I’ve become attached to FF3. I still love Opera and all, but the fact that I can actually use a browser in the Russian language (or most other ones as well) is just awesome. Not only is it underlining every single English word I type with the red dotted lines, but it also displays some major sites (Google, Livejournal, MySpace, etc.) in Russian. In short, once I start getting into vocabulary, I can use this to see if I’m spelling the Russian words correctly and I can use it to further my knowledge. If I knew how to switch Opera to Russian I’d do that, but apparently it’s only available in international English…unless I’m missing something (which could be a strong possibility). Sadly, I don’t know what most of everything in the menus are, but I know all the essentials (new tabs, printing, cutting/copying/pasting, etc.).
Now to elaborate on the "expensive taste" part. I know a few weeks back Carlo mentioned something about wanting an ultra-portable laptop for classes and whatnot. Well, today I kinda started thinking about it, and I’d kinda like one myself, only I want to get a MacBook. I’m pretty much on par with what Rob mentioned about laptops sucking, but hey, when it comes to doing reports and classwork, I think I’d rather have a nice 5-pound laptop to haul around campus than lug around a 40 some-pound desktop. I question how much time I’ll have when I get to the university to actually loaf around and play games. And even if I do want to, I could run Windows on the MacBook and play that way every once in a while. The main reason I want a Mac is because I’ve always sort of wanted a Mac notebook. There’s also the whole "Macs don’t get viruses/malicious software/blah blah" bit as well. A bit more expensive than a PC would be, but I don’t think Vista would be a good laptop OS unless the comp had some good hardware. Truthfully, I don’t particularly care for Windows laptops. That’s a desktop OS in my book and that’s mainly because of gaming. I will say that my roots lie within Windows, but I want to try something different besides Linux. Linux can be a rather frustrating OS to use sometimes. Not to mention I don’t think it’s as widely supported as Windows or Mac are.
This is the one I want if I can manage to save up for it. Dunno if I can with these high-ass gas prices or not. I might try to find one a little less steep, but I’m doubtful I’ll find one less than $800. D;

This may help o= But yeah I’m getting a little attached to FF3 myself =P It hasn’t taken over Opera, but it’s slowly working its way there. The only thing I never liked about FF was its speed, but now that’s not so much a problem anymore. So well see where things end up in a few months o=
And haha that’s exactly the laptop I was going to buy before I got into the whole ultraportable phase. Macbooks are generally a safe buy. They’re fairly reliable and sturdy so I don’t think that’ll be a bad purchase. Probably the only reason I dont want to get one (well ’sides the price) is that I’m afraid if I buy a laptop with decent specs I’ll end up gaming all during class. So I’d rather avoid that temptation and stick with a low-spec’d ultraportable like the Eee PC. =P

Ahh, got it! Opera’s been Russian-ized too. Thanks dude! ;3
More than likely I’m not going to put Windows on it for that very reason. I don’t think I’ll have a whole slew of time like I do now. =P
