No, no not this site. I’m talking about my personal niche in the interwebs, sevendizzy.com. Last we saw it [ well it was probably only me that ever went there but Ill kindly ignore that fact ], it was a front for my tumblr page which pretty much went off the map after I lost interest. So instead I decided to put content on the front page of things that are constantly being updated. I ended up with a combination of my Twitter feed, delicious feed, and of course this site.
Warning, Nerd Content Ahead:
At first I was just hoping to have a simple html file with just plain javacript handling my feeds. This was simple with delcious and Twitter since both services provide a simple way to put their feeds on your various sites. They weren’t very customizable, but hey they were really simple to set up. But then I remembered that there isn’t such a thing with sp’s feed since.. well it’s my own site. So I searched around the web to see if there was an easy way to display rss feeds on a site. Found several applications online that made a simple javascript code which you’d put on your site but as I looked into them futher I discovered that not only did they pretty much suck and take forever to load, it was next to impossible to find one that was easily customizable. So after racking my brain for an hour and a half with that I ended up deciding to just use Wordpress and make a dumbed down template, which I did. Basically took the blogging part out of Wordpress and just used several plugins to make it work how I wanted and viola! It works. Then I had to design it so it didn’t look like ass which is what I did this afternoon. That was sort of a pain cause at first I wanted to go in one direction, then like 80% of the way through I decided it still looked like ass so then I just threw together something simple and minimalistic like I normally do and I liked the end result a lot. And that was a run-on sentence. So I’m happy with it now. Don’t think it’ll change for a while. Well unless its a layout change. But yeah I like it.

Your thoughts? Any suggestions, critiques?

Edit: Oh if it pops up as “Domain not found” or something of that sort, just wait a day or two. It’s still being processed through the interwebs.
