Buying Vista/Trading a guitar
I finally received the other half of my check (tuition/books deducted) from school for this semester today, which is seriously leading me to consider buying the retail version of Vista Ultimate. I’ll probably wait til after I get paid next week. If I do buy Vista, is there anything about it besides the 4GB fix I should be aware of Carlo? =o
I’m also considering trading in my black flying-V guitar for a classical nylon-string acoustic guitar for as close to equal value as possible, although I’m sure I’ll have some difference to pay off. I currently have one acoustic and three electrics. I barely ever touch the V, and I don’t even wanna think about getting rid of the Dean, for oh-so-obvious reasons, and the Eastwood has a tremolo arm on it, plus it’s the one we’ve had since I was like 6 or 7. Besides, if I traded the V in, I’d have two electrics and two acoustics…and then my brother’s drum set! A well-balanced musical arsenal minus the keyboard and bass guitar! =P
And to wrap things up, I went on ahead and made a mage in Maple a few days ago. Got him up to level 14 currently, gonna try to get ‘im up to 15 tonight. BTW Carlo, I take it you won’t be playing anymore? =o
Rob says:
Trade the V if you don’t play it, but if you do get another acoustic for classical playing, make SURE you have a the finger reach to play all the strings. :o
Heh, do what you want with Vista, I’ll stick with XP Pro for now.
Speaking of, do either of you guys have any idea as to where I might procure the Japanese language pack for XP without going to Microsoft.com ro having the original disk?

Joey says:
My fingers are pretty long, so I don’t believe I’ll have a problem there. =o
As for the language packs, the best advice I can give you is to google it. I tried doing that once, but I didn’t really get anywhere with it. I did come across this link at download.com, but I dunno if that’s what your looking for. I just installed the Asian languages directly from my CD. =o

That’s about it you need to know about Vista. Everything else worked just fine with me. No major hassles or crashes. I’ll probably be purchasing my own copy in the coming months as well.
‘nd still not sure if I’ll be playing Maple much o= We’ll see in the coming week.
And I ran into this problem a few years back too Rob. Never did find anything after some extensive searching. Eventually just had to find a Windows CD to install the language files. But things might’ve changed over the last few years so best thing to do is go to a tech forum and ask around.
