I picked out all the parts, and it's pretty much totalled to about $250 roughly. Speakers and monitor are no problem, I'll just unhook the old PC when my brother isn't using it and just rehook it when he decides to. He doesn't use it a whole terrible lot. Depending on the parts you end up with it may sometimes be more cost effective to find a good deal at a brick and mortar store than building your own. Plus you'll usually get a monitor, mouse/keyboard, and speakers thrown in for free. Just thought I'd give you a heads up.
