I want a Linux box
Back when I downloaded Ubuntu linux I came across a link to Fedora. Well, I’m sorta curious to check it out as well (might as well, it is free after all). Unfortunately, my brother wants to use the old tower to record some stuff on, and he’s not much of a computer-nerdy kind of person, so putting Fed on that PC is out. Dunno if it’d be able to handle it or not anyway. <_<;; I’ve been browsing around on newegg looking for some cheap hardware to use instead. Already started up a wish list and everything. Maybe I can get this thing going for under $250-300 if I’m lucky. =o

I was thinking about doing something like that before for a computer for the parents. Depending on the parts you end up with it may sometimes be more cost effective to find a good deal at a brick and mortar store than building your own. Plus you’ll usually get a monitor, mouse/keyboard, and speakers thrown in for free. Just thought I’d give you a heads up.

Did you get that email I sent you? I picked out all the parts, and it’s pretty much totalled to about $250 roughly. Speakers and monitor are no problem, I’ll just unhook the old PC when my brother isn’t using it and just rehook it when he decides to. He doesn’t use it a whole terrible lot. The reason I wanna build one is because I want it to perform better than that old piece of junk. That thing could barely run Xubuntu <_<;;
